LINCOLN
HIGHWAY - PENNSYLVANIA - This is perhaps the most famous of all the US
highways in Pennsylvania. US 30 is a part of the Lincoln Highway from
Philadelphia to the Ohio border, which was the first paved transcontinental
highway in the United States. Carl G. Fisher, the creator of the Lincoln
Highway, also had a hand in starting the Indianapolis 500 and developing Miami
Beach, Florida.

highway in American History, the Lincoln Highway has played a very important in
Pennsylvania's road history. Along it are relics of Colonial Times, the
Revolution, the Civil War, and finally Roadside Americana. From Philadelphia to
